Popular Nollywood Movie Actor, Prince James Uche, Passed Away: News has it on Wednesday 8, 2017 that even after a protracted battle with diabetes and kidney ailment, veteran Nollywood actor, James Uche, is confirmed dead.


The Nollywood actor who died on Wednesday 8, 2017, exactly 2 days to his billed trip to a hospital in India for surgery. Remember that there was an appeal last December last year by his son for concerned citizens to raise funds for his treatment.

The popular movie actor’s fund raising team confirmed that his death on Wednesday morning which was made public in the evening was due to complications from a kidney-related ailment and diabetes.

News came into air when a member of the fund raising team, actress Chioma Okoye, broke the news on her Instagram page on Wednesday evening. She said he had been experiencing blisters on his legs, very high fever and strange blood infections for the past 3 days just before he was able to secured his Visa without appearance to India for more care and treatment.

It was confirmed that he died inside the ambulance that was conveying him for his Dialysis at about 2 O'clock on Wednesday. Okoye wrote in her page that Uche was scheduled to travel on Saturday, March 11th 2017. 

After the fund raising apeal in December 2016, the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and his wife had in January 2017 donated about N3 million to offset the medical bills of the actor.

Prince Uche, the Nigerian actor has been bedridden for several months (exactly 1 year, 7 months) and was in dire need of an urgent kidney transplant and eye surgery. He had been ill for eight years.

He was down with high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney failure. He also needed to undergo an urgent kidney transplant and eye surgery in India, which cost about eleven to fifteen million Naira.

Godspower Hospital in Festac Town, Lagos State, has previously evicted from their hospital because they are owing the hospital about N2.5 million without being able to offset the bills.

James Uche was very popular for his wonderful role in Nollywood blockbusters like Lost Kingdom, The Councillor Igodo, and Coronation. He has also featured in so many films and directed a few.
